I haven't seen the 5342 build in MSDN subscriber downloads. Is that available to subscribers?

5342 build
No, its not, only Technology Adoption Customers (TAP) and Technical Testers. Its not of CTP quality and was designated an interim release showcasing a snapshot of the development progress. The next build that will be a available to MSDN subscribers is the BETA 2 release expected sometime during or after WinHEC 2006. The same case of build 5342 not being made available to MSDN sunscribers also applies to build 5365. -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm

To be honest Andre, WinHEC's a good suggestion - they've always released something Vista/Longhorn related over the last few years.. so my guess is that it's then as well :o)
WinHEC is between May 23-25, 2006... so in theory... Kevin could in fact be on the right track?

Zack, don't forget what happened Last Year, However (Pre-Beta 1 Build 5048 was Released Only to WINHEC Attendee's, which was something I remember very well, because You threw a Temper-Tantrum in both the Win FX Newsgroups and the MSDN Newsgroups demanding that Microsoft give you Build 5048, just because you were unable to attend WINHEC).

Don't mean to sound like I'm having a go... yeh you're right, Beta 2 will be public... but are you 100% it's the next build? A lot of people thought this new build was going to be Beta 2, as did I ;o)

Given alittle time after WinHELL, (oops, sorry) I mean WinHECK, it most likely will be available via bittorrent.
I hope it improves a significant amount by then!
You just got to Love Microsoft for Denying us both 5342 and 5365. Look for Beta 2 to come out (to the General Public) on Winds Day, May 24th, 2006. I like spelling it that way, because I live in the Chicago (Windy City) Suburbs.
